Hello

I’m Callie Cummings, and I created Farm to Family Market after a career spent designing systems to help communities thrive, whether in the U.S. Army, at Fortune 100 Cisco, or in global sustainability leadership. My work has always focused on practical, human-centered solutions, and that experience now fuels my mission to expand economic opportunity for small farmers and reconnect families to their local food economy.

My Story

Farm to Family Market began with a simple truth: families want reliable access to healthy local food, and small farmers need a transparent, predictable way to sell it. Yet the platforms available today are often too costly, too complicated, or too disconnected from the realities of local agriculture. I created Farm to Family Market to close that gap—to design a simple, trustworthy, community-centered platform that strengthens regional food systems and empowers small farms.

My mission became deeply personal in 2022. After years of overseas deployments, chronic illness entered our family in a way that forced us to reevaluate everything—especially our food. We shifted fully into functional wellness, searching for clean ingredients, local farms, and sources we could truly trust. What I found was a fragmented landscape where it was incredibly difficult to know who was growing our food, how it was raised, and whether it aligned with the healing path we needed. That struggle opened my eyes to how many families face the same challenge. Farm to Family Market is as much a personal mission as it is a community mission.

I bring more than 16 years of experience building systems that work where complexity, fragmentation, or high stakes make most solutions fail. My career has taken me across the U.S. Army, Fortune 100 technology, and global sustainability leadership, and in every role I’ve focused on delivering practical, people-centered frameworks that create measurable impact.

I began my career as one of the first women to lead combat engineer troops, where I learned how to solve problems with limited resources and zero margin for error. I later served as a Special Operations intelligence and human terrain analyst across multiple combat theaters, developing a deep ability to understand what people value, what barriers they face, and how systems succeed or fail them. In Afghanistan, I designed a $24M Monitoring & Evaluation framework for 28 infrastructure and sustainability projects supporting local communities, U.S. Special Operations, and USAID. These experiences built my foundation in data, community engagement, and real-world impact assessment.

In the private sector, I applied this systems mindset at Cisco, co-leading a global brand experience redesign and facilitating innovation workshops for diverse global teams. I later expanded my human-centered design expertise through IDEO’s design-thinking academy, strengthening my ability to build solutions with communities, not for them.

Most recently, as a senior sustainability leader at a global Fortune 1000 data and analytics company, I built enterprise-wide sustainability frameworks and roadmaps from the ground up. I authored multi-million-dollar strategic investment cases, advanced climate and supply-chain initiatives, and was trusted by executives to lead efforts where accuracy, long-term strategy, and cross-functional alignment were essential.

I also hold a Master of Arts in Global Leadership and Sustainable Development, earned more than 15 years ago, long before sustainability became a trend. That formal study, combined with years of practical, high-impact work, gives me a rare blend of academic preparation and real-world execution.

Farm to Family Market is where all of that experience converges. By combining my background in systems design, UX, sustainability, and community development, I’ve created a platform rooted in simplicity, transparency, and trust. It reflects my belief that strong communities begin with strong local economies—and that modern tools should empower farmers, not overwhelm them.
